Before AI, automation, or any of the tools I build today — I came up as a restaurant guy. I learned business the hard way, in kitchens and dining rooms, owning and operating multiple locations where hard work, tight margins, and relentless systems aren't buzzwords. They're survival skills.
That pressure forged how I think about every business I've touched since. It also inspired me to build Restaurant Success System — because I went from being a struggling owner who'd bought himself a job, to running a multi-unit operation that actually worked. That shift was about systems, not talent.
The bigger turning point came later. That same mindset carried into the service industry — most notably into Spiffy, where as a co-founder, I helped scale a mobile service company from $0 in 2014 to nearly $90M in annual recurring revenue, 300+ vehicles on the road, over $100M raised, and a valuation north of $500M.
